As part of our continuing education, we will meet with fellow wedding industry top pros and planners from across the world, including a delegation from Japan. Speakers include Sylvia Weinstock, Rebecca Grinnals and Peggy Post just to name a few.

We start with a welcome reception tonight - "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend".

So look for lots of post later this week.

Inspiration - Hawaii

This is what you call "Wedding Hawaiian Style" starting with a wedding on a beautiful Oahu beach, Hawaiian leis and dancers (hula and fire). Aloha!

Floating Lanterns

We luv this idea, held every Memorial Day in Hawaii. According to Lantern Floating Hawaii website, "lantern floating is an Asian spiritual tradition that beautifully symbolizes the wish for all beings to live in peaceful coexistence. As the lanterns are released onto the ocean they take with them our healing prayers for victims of conflict, famine, disaster and disease as well as our hopes for the happiness of all past and present."

Hydration Station

As we find more ways to incorporate eco-friendly options into weddings, here are a few tips that will conserve and refresh. Add a water station infused with cucumbers, limes or lemons.

Hydration Station:
  • Eliminate pre-filled water glasses
  • Eliminate pitchers of water on the tables
  • Use hydration "water" station - glass containers
  • Eliminate plastic water bottles

A Bride's Journey, Part 9

hello, wedding soiree readers – man, oh man, have the past couple of weeks been EXTREMELY busy!!! wedding planning is continuing to run smoothly…very much ahead of schedule! in fact, dude + i talk frequently about how we wish that the date were sooner, we’re trying to be patient, but…it’s difficult…reeeeeally difficult!!! you see, we recently closed on our new home; however, we made the decision that we will continue to live apart until after the wedding. the anticipation of finally being able to live together {or have sleepovers with my best friend for the rest of my life as i like to call it} is now magnified…like 100x! however, it has added a fun new dimension to our lives…not only are we planning the wedding, but we’re also decorating our new digs! we are truly blessed!

now onto a wedding planning update…

would you please just…SAVE THE DATE?!?

i honestly, can’t think of anything clever to say other than the fact that i am UBER-EXCITED about our save the dates.

suuuure, every future bride probably says the same thing, but seriously. ours are awesome!!!

we worked with the bee paperie to create our custom save the dates {sorry, but i just can’t seem to bring myself to use the abbreviation} + one of my talented friends lent a helping hand {literally} by addressing each of them. i don’t want to say toooo toooo much about the design of them as our guests have yet to receive them in the mail; however, i promise once our guests get their hands on them, i’ll be sure to spill the beans!

in the meantime, feel free to take a look at a few “teaser” pics J

{no magnifying glasses allowed!!!} --- Joyfully planning, Crystal

Inspiration - Panama City

Over the next few weeks, we will be traveling the world (via Internet) in search of marvelous weddings; the first stop was Puerto Rico. We are now enjoying the postcard sights of Panama City, Panama "home of Mr. Preston Bailey". We have to say that Tanja Lippert's photographs give us a bird's eye view into the culture of this beautiful wedding destination.

The Sweetest Place on Earth

If we lived closer to San Francisco, we would definitely stop by one of Miette's Patisserie's three locations for a few sweet treats. There is more eye candy than anyone could imagine. Our favorites: French macaroons and cupcakes. The store has been described by Anh-Minh Le" as much a delight for the eyes as it is for the belly".

Engaging: Lindsey and Justin

How adorable are these two? We are so excited that Wedding Soiree will be helping Lindsey and Justin plan the perfect wedding. They will be the first wedding on our books for 2010 and we can't wait!
