What's Hot - Embellished Belt

What's Hot for 2010 - An embellished belt for your wedding gown. Here's a DIY tutorial from MJ Trimming (1 rhinestone buckle #40970, 1 yard of 36mm silk ribbon #02336, needle, thread, scissors). We're sure the belt will look fab as you make a quick change before you hit the dance floor.

Instructions: Measure your waist. This belt has no adjustment so don’t cheat or you will be holding your tummy in all evening.
Add one inch to this measurement and cut ribbon at this length.
Create ½” pleat at the top of the ribbon and press. Ideally you want the lines to create an up right V, this is a much more youthful look.
Thread your ribbon through the back of your buckle, stop at 1″ and fold over.
Hand stitch the tab you’ve just created down to the ribbon as close the bar as possible.
Trim off excess, if you own pinking sheers. If not a straight cut is fine.

Eye Candy - Friday Edition

Whenever we need candy "eye candy" we head over to Chris + Lynn's blog. The ladies "wedding party members" are really serious about their shoes. Jimmy Choos for the bride and some smoking hot heels for the bridesmaids. Our favorite item - that calla lilly wrapped centerpiece - oh la la!

Beach Mood Lighting

We would definitely use these tall Lampara Piramide lights available from Y Lighting at a beach wedding. Hum, we would use these lights at a garden wedding - okay we would find a place to use them - de.light.ful!!

Inspiration - Winter Pinecones, Part 2

The love feast continues with Martha Stewart's twist on pinecones. The color combination of blue and brown is a winter staple. "Real pinecones flocked with royal icing and glistening with sanding sugar are accented with finely wrought chocolate pine needles; they add a natural-looking texture to the cake's modern lines."

Inspiration - Winter Pinecones, Part 1

Via Margot Austin's blog styling - who knew pinecones could be so cooooool! Even though this is a residential setting, the concept could easily be adapted for a wedding. How cool are the pinecones used as candles, garland and trees? We will be gathering the pinecones in our backyards this weekend - lol!
